SDSPS Membership

Dear Poets and Poetry Lovers,

We welcome your Membership in SDSPS! As a member of South Dakota State Poetry Society, you will help with our mission of supporting and encouraging poem-making and -reading in South Dakota. You will also receive issues of Pasque Petals, and a copy of the chapbook that wins our annual contest.

Membership Dues are $40 annually and must be paid before January 1 each year. Membership paid after February 1 will be applied to the next calendar year, and your first issue of Pasque Petals would be the Spring issue of that year.

Membership in the state society includes membership in the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, and members can enter their contests and have discounted rates for some entries. Membership also includes:

  • Hard copies of the spring and fall issue of Pasque Petals, and the winning chapbook
  • Reduced fee to submit to chapbook competition, contests, and Pasque Petals
  • May apply for mini-grant
  • May nominate someone for poet of merit award
  • Contribute to website content (blog, promote events/publications)

Membership follows the calendar year. Membership renewals for the next calendar year are due by January 1 and may be paid at any time during the current year. For instance, memberships paid in March, 2023 are effective January 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025.
