Submissions are now open for the Annual Poetry Contest hosted by the South Dakota State Poetry Society! From August 1 to December 1, poets are invited to showcase their work in two distinct categories: Portrait and Landscape.

• Portrait Category: Submit poems that reflect your experiences or those of someone you know from South Dakota.

• Landscape Category: Capture the essence of South Dakota's unique land and features in your poetry.

Prizes of $100, $75, and $50 will be awarded to the top three entries in each category, with winning poems published in the spring issue of Pasque Petals.

Please ensure your submissions adhere to the guidelines available on Submittable, as entries not following these will be disqualified. The entry fee is $5 for SDSPS members.
